Scenario: A superhero interrogates a captured super villain.
We were asked to recreate a short scene from a film of a minute and a half long with the emphasis upon recreating the shot types. The types of shots that we had to include were shot reverse shot, close ups, panning shots, medium shots and also to obey the 180 degree rule. The film that our group was assigned to do was The Dark Knight. In this scene Batman interrogates the Joker because he has captured innocent civilians and Batman needs to know where they are to save them.

Preliminary Project

Inspiration Video
What made this scene memorable?
Shot-reverse-shot as it shows that the scene is quite fast paced.
The use of high angle and low angle shots shows that the Joker is inferior in the scene and Batman is 'in charge' as the shots make him look more dominant.
Editing - no music, makes the audience focus on the dialogue more.
What is challenging about remaking it?
Difficult to capture the shot-reverse-shot as the characters are constantly moving.
Editing- ensuring that there is no sound in the background.
Editing - cutting out the bits of the scene that isn't relevant.
Pre-Production Tasks: Who Was Responsible?
My production crew consisted of; Me, Hafiza, Shivani, and Anisa.
The individual who wrote done the storyboard was Anisa, who also done the editing. Shivani was responsible for the props, and I was responsible of the filming and had joint roles with Hafiza on lighting, which she has also had a joint role of doing the script with Anisa. I asked other people who were willing to be filmed to be in the video, named Zain and Dharmil.
Mini-Objectives
One of the objectives we had as a group was that Anisa was in charge of making the storyboard before we actually started shooting the film, which was successful; also Anisa has done the script with Hafiza before the production, so that the actors can learn the lines.
Another objective we had been to complete was to start filming and editing before October 6th as this was our deadline which we successfully completed.
Location – Indoors, inside classroom.
Times and Date – During free periods, after school or weekends.
Storyboard of The Dark Knight scene

Technical Challenges:
Cinematography: Ensuring that the camera doesn't shake or make a loud noise whilst filming, we had technical problems as we had a noise whilst filming which was hard to get rid off.
Soundtrack: The only sound in interrogation scene was the dialogue.
Mise-en-scene: Location - need to ensure that there is no noise and inside a dull room for the interrogation, also need to ensure that it is dark but no too dark which could be difficult as it depends on the weather which is a contingency.
Editing: Shot-reverse-shot may be difficult as if the camera hasn't been focused long enough on the actors face it could come out wrong, also cutting out bits that aren't relevant could be time consuming.
Difficulties and overcoming them:
Whilst filming our movie we encountered many difficulties. One of the difficulties we have faced was the filming, as it took lots of attempts to get it right even though it wasn't perfect, lots of times it made lots of noise whilst filming so we had to retake the clip again. Another challenge we had to overcome was scheduling issues, different members in our team had different days when they were free and no one was free at the same time so therefore we decided as a group, who take on certain roles each on different day, like Anisa editing the video, Me and Hafiza filmed the video, Shivani got the props etc.
Audience feedback:
Pros:
Good use of editing
Location was accurate as it was inside a room thats empty, quiet etc.
Shot reverse shot was clearly shown
Cons:
Camera making noise whilst recording
Zoomed in scenes looked unprofessional
Costume wasn't accurate
